Last few days as an only child…

So we are in the home stretch and this is my last weekend as an only child. Mommy and Daddy wanted to do something special for me today because tomorrow Grandma Susie is watching me for most of the day. This was the last real day for a family of three outing! We ended up leaving the house around 8am and heading to Clearwater Beach, isn’t that were everyone goes in mid-January? I was excited…. very excited! I was jumping around the house screaming “BEACH BEACH BEACH… YEAH We Going to the BEACH!!!!”

Daddy helping me with my sand toys as we built a few small castles.

I was in high gear and running practically the entire time we were there!

Daddy showed me how to make “sand angels” since snow angels were pretty much out of the question.

I decided I was a wrecking crew and knocked over all the sandcastles Daddy had built for me!

Mommy sat still too long and Daddy and I buried her feet in the sand!

Then I wanted to go see the “ocean!” Mommy explained it is the Gulf of Mexico but I didn’t care! Daddy took me down to the water, rather I took Daddy! The water was a bit chilly but that didn’t bother me!

JUMP when the waves come!!! See I CAN jump now!!!!

Soaking wet after the waves and taking a breather in the sand.

“HELP the waves are chasing me!!!”

Daddy and I braving the cold water. Those waves weren’t TOO big but were wet and cold!

All done in the water.. My “Cheesy cheesy cheese” smile.

We got all cleaned up and ran a few errands and then went to Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill for lunch. I LOVE there calamari!

Home now for a nap and then more fun this afternoon.

Gymboree and Carwashes

Mommy and I took the mini-van to get it cleaned and detailed before the baby comes. I like the “car wash doctor” because they sell circle shaped peanut butter crackers! It takes one pack of crackers to equal the time it takes to wash the car.

Also, yesterday, for the first time in ages I was really into my Gymboree classes. My art class we were pretending it was SNOWING… using packing peanuts. I laughed and giggled at this. I think I liked it more than the rent of the kids combined!

We also did “shaving cream ice skating” again! Mommy laughed at all the toddlers stripped to diapers and rolling in the shaving cream. Mommy said she didn’t take pictures of it because she was afraid of all the shaving cream on the diapered kids!

Next was my play class. We pretended everything was “fire truck” related. Here is a shot of me and several friends riding along in the fire truck! I had a LOT of fun!

Please Be Warned About Spelling

Today, I demonstrated a new task at breakfast. Daddy was picking on Mommy (who was up most of the night with discomfort and what she called Braxton Hicks Contractions). Daddy said to Mommy “s-e-x will fix it!” Mommy snarled at Daddy and then I repeated over and over at the top of my lungs “S-E-X…. S-E-X…” Mommy snarled even more!

Mommy got about 3 hours sleep. She said it could have been four to four and a half if a fire engine had not gone racing down the local highway by the house. I have very keen hearing and immediately woke up and started shouting “FIRE TRUCK… WEEE_oooo_WEEEEEE_Oooooo”. That was the end of sleep because it was “DAYTIME MOMMY DAYTIME… FLY ME DOWN!!!!!” Mommy growled at the clock… 6:15. UGH! Normally I can play quietly for about an hour…. not today!

Chocolate Cake Meltdowns

A large portion of my day today was spent playing “picnic” with Mommy or Mommy and Daddy! Last night at Target I acquired two lunch boxes (a frog and a monkey) and we have packed them with snacks from my play kitchen toys. Mommy spread out a picnic blanket (a monkey blanket I got from Grandma Susie for Christmas) and we went on a picnic full of bugs and avocados. Daddy thought it would be fun to make a cake tonight (I was showing him my play bundt pan and it sparked the idea).

After work Daddy got all the ingredients ready and then I came out and helped measure, mix and lick (everything I could get my hands on…. sugar, chocolate and more of the done mixture). Mommy buttered and floured the cake pans and my small bunt pan, too! I did a super job helping and cleaning up. Daddy poured the mixture into the pans and then went to put them in the oven. I LOST IT!

TEARS like you have never seen before. My screaming “DON’T COOK MY CAKE!!!!” and “NOT THE OVEN!!!!”. Mommy and Daddy tried to explain it wasn’t cake until it was cooked. My tears turned into me jumping up and down screaming and crying. Finally Mommy distracted my with play-doh and Daddy put everything in the oven. Things were fine then. (Although Daddy worried the neighbors were going to call the police fearing Mommy and Daddy were trying to stuff me in the oven!!)

I polished off my entire little cake after dinner tonight. Then I told Mommy & Daddy I had a tummy ache and let out a rather large burp! All boy! hehe

—in other news—

Mommy is still hanging tough with baby #2. Less than a week to go!

My emotions have been off this week. I am feeling a bit under the weather but I will survive. I spent most of my Gymboree class today under a table in the corner.

Weekend Walking Fun and Tears

This past Saturday we opted for a trip to Ikea in the morning. Daddy wanted to buy a few bookshelves for the baby room since storage is an issue in there. Well, because I was a super well behaved boy Mommy and Daddy took me to EPCOT for the rest of the day.

Here is Mommy 38.5 weeks preggers with baby brother. Mommy walked the ENTIRE world and beyond.

I wanted to go on the “Energy” ride with the dinosaurs and was really happy because the line was short. After about 2 minutes in line I changed my mind and insisted that I go sit in the stroller.

I spent most of my day in the stroller. I just wanted to observe rather than run around. We stopped at every “KiDCot” stop and I collected items from all the countries. I really enjoyed doing this. But I was over the camera and just wanted to hide from it. Finally after MUCH coaxing, I peaked over my hat. Mommy said it is okay to tell that I didn’t want my picture taken because I had on no pants! Just a shirt and a diaper. I had a small accident landing me in wet pants at the end of the afternoon so Mommy just stripped me and said “ahhh, he is a kid!”

Than a big laugh!! I felt better about the pantless thing.

All I wanted to do all day was to ride the “rollercoaster” aka monorail. We waited in line for a bit and finally were able to ride up front.

I LOVED watching out the front window. I kept yelling there were rhinos on the train tracks. REALLY LOUD!

Is this genuine concern that we will hit a rhino? or me turning to Daddy because he finally said “SHHHHHH!”

There goes monorail YELLOW!

I had a LOT of fun on the monorail!

After our ride we loaded in the car and went to Downtown Disney to wander more and shop a little. I really was eager to play at the play place at the Lego store. There were a LOT of kids so Mommy stood close to make sure I was okay. I don’t like slides too much but I do love closing and opening the big windows at the top of the play center.

I was having a LOF of fun…

UNTIL! This really mean (probably 5-6 year old) girl slammed the window and told me “NO stop doing that!” and then I thought for a moment and started to BURST into tears! Mommy met me at the ladder and “flew me down” to the ground.

No one has ever been mean to me like that before and I wasn’t sure what t think of it. Plus it was PAST nap time so I was even more sensitive.

As we walked away I shook my finger at the girl and said “That’s NOT NICE!!!!!! NOT NICE!!!!”

Mommy & Daddy comforted me for a bit and then I was ready to SHOP! I picked out a few little things to spend my gift card on and then we headed for lunch.

I saw this while eating lunch. Daddy has to build it for me from my new tinker toys. WOW!

I didn’t want lunch, just milk. And of course one of my new “friends”, a piggy bank from Ikea!

All in all it was a fun day. I took a 20 minute nap (only because Mommy wouldn’t let me sleep longer) on the way home. We got home, read a story and I went to bed.

Update:Daddy just reminded me we stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way home and I picked out three “Scooby-Doo” books to read. I’ve been having them read to me almost non-stop the past few days…. Hang on… Daddy wants me to say that two of the books are a nice short length – about 20 pages and only take about 5-10 minutes to read but one of them is closer to 50 pages and takes a good 10-15 minutes to read. Apparently Daddy wants to warn all my support system to be wary if you come over for a short visit about agreeing to read a Scooby-Doo book!

I certainly hope we can keep moving like this once baby brother gets here!
