Fishing, Rivers, and Playgrounds

We all went up in the attic yesterday and got the Easter baskets down. Emmerson and I had fun playing with all the Easter grass and the plastic eggs. Mommy was going crazy because the grass was EVERYWHERE!

I have invented a new game. I took the shaft of my t-ball stand, a jump rope and a plastic bucket and fashioned a “fishing pole”! I make people go to the basement and load things in the bucket and then I reel them in. It kept me entertained for over an hour this morning! So funny!

We headed out in the 40F weather to the library for story time this morning. We got there early so I threw rocks into the river behind the library for a while. This river has flooded many times. The water level can come up about 8 more feet! Amazing!

DSCN1510

Note to Mommy, check my pockets for rocks tonight. I have a BUNCH to share with you!

DSCN1513

We went inside to the library to find that we read the story time wrong. We thought it was 10:30 and it was actually at 10. WOOPS! Oh well. I picked out a few more books and 2 movies to watch while Emmerson naps. Then we headed to the playground at Boardman Township Park.

I still like the little kid things! I rocked for a long time!

DSCN1520

Then I played taxi with Emmerson. I kept asking where he wanted to go and them charging him different prices based on the distance. This ride was to “over there” and cost “3 dollars!”

DSCN1521

We went to the big kid playground so I could show Grandma Susie how I can pump on the swing all by myself now! I got distracted when I saw a tire swing. Since the girls in my class at school usually monopolize the tire swing I was excited to find it empty. I shouted out “WHO WILL PUSH ME!” Suddenly these two cute girls came running over and offered to push.

DSCN1528

I went round and round and round. The one in the pink rode with me for a while but she got dizzy and wanted off. I am becoming quite the flirt. I was telling the girls “Hi I am Breighton Samuel and I am from Florida!” then I told them about “my Daddy, my hermit crabs and that my birthday was when i get home!” I invited them to my house! 🙂 hehe I hope they can come!

DSCN1530

We had such a fun morning that I am going to go watch Pokemon on the DVD for a bit and relax in a quiet house. Grandma Susie and Great Grandma Barbara went to the YMCA for exercise class.

**note from mom** B is snoring VERy loudly crashed on the sofa. He only made it 10 minutes into Pokemon. BLISS!

Fun In The Yard In The COLD!

After downtime today we worked on out Easter tree in the front yard. I liked helping Grandma Susie hang the eggs up that we had made earlier.

I helped show Emmerson how to hang them on the tree.

DSCN1481

Grandma Susie helped me hang the high ones.

DSCN1482

I got bored quickly and wanted to get back to digging for worms in the backyard!

DSCN1491

Emmerson and I got all cleaned up in a warm tub. We have been getting along fantastically this trip! I actually think I like my little brother now!

DSCN1503

We had an awesome dinner of spaghetti! I even asked for seconds! Daniel, from across the street, came over to play bugs and Littlest Pet Shop for a while. I had a fun time playing with my “summer fr friend”! Afterwards, we went to the Poland Library for Pajama Storytime. There were about 40-50 kids and I went right in the room and sat in the front row and started talking to all the older girls. I was amazingly well behaved for the 40 minutes we were there! I love story time and had only heard 3 of the 6 books the lady read! ((I read a lot of books!!))

I could barely keep my eyes open when we got home. After getting ready for bed I was asleep in five minutes! What a fun day here is Ohio!

SNOW! Snow! SNOW??

We woke up today to white stuff blanketing just about nothing. Wait, that sounds strange. It snowed last night. There was very little accumulation but still enough that you could tell it came down.

The most was on the car! Poor car was shivering!

DSCN1446

I don’t think our car has even been this cold. 30F!!! hehe That is even more cold than the “cold room” at Costco!

DSCN1474

You can see the snow on the branches, roofs and bushes but the ground was a bit too warm to keep any.

DSCN1447

Mommy thought it was too cold to go outside so she went and scrapped some of the snow off of the car and brought it inside for me to play with.

DSCN1450

We picked up some waterproof gloves at Target for working in the yard ad they worked great for playing in snow!

DSCN1452

I was having such a good time!

DSCN1453

I liked scooping the snow into other cups.

DSCN1457

I tasted it once but it was really cold and kind of dirty tasting! ((Go figure it was taken from the hood of the car!!!))

DSCN1459

Great Granny came and stuck her finger in the bowl. BRRR! She went right in and warmed up! She is so funny!

DSCN1461

Mommy eventually let us go outside and play. I could have cared less about the snow. To me it was all about the WORMS again! UGH!

DSCN1468

So happy to be outside. I wish I could be out all day but it is chilly still! Up to 32F!!!

DSCN1470

Mommy will be doing tons of laundry this trip! Yup, I just sat down on the muddy wet ground! See, this is my earthworm bucket. There were not as many worms today but I still managed to dig up about 10!

DSCN1473

I really like Ohio!

Ohio Vacation

After school on Friday, Mommy, Emmerson and I headed via car for Ohio. We drove the entire afternoon and evening on Friday and then ALL day on Saturday. We finally got here on Saturday night at about 7:30pm. Just enough time to stretch my legs and run around in the yard before bed.

Today, Sunday, we has a VERy busy day!

We started out the morning in the rain at Boardman Township Park for a little education on maple syrup making. We apparently were the only silly people that braved the icky cold and rain. It was only about 40F out.

Grandma Susie and I walking to the shelter to find out about what wag going on.

DSCN1404

They had real animals that had been stuffed and mounted. It was kinda of weird but they looked really cool!

DSCN1406

We found out there were wagon rides back into the woods to see the maple sugar tapping on the trees. We hopped aboard and were the only people on the ride.

DSCN1407

Mommy brought blankets so Emmerson and I could snuggle up warm. Grandma Susie kept me warm too!

DSCN1409

There was a really awesome park employee that drove the tractor through the trails.

DSCN1411

Here are a few of the pots we found.

DSCN1414

It was nice because the driver would stop for Mommy to take photos. There was another park employee on the back of the wagon that was trimming trees as we went. Apparently some of the branches were “scratching” people on the ride yesterday!

DSCN1415

I loved the wagon ride.

DSCN1416

Then we same the guru of maple syrup. He told us all about how to measure the sugar content of the sap and how the syrup is made. It takes 43 gallons of the tree sap to make 1 gallon of syrup! Lots of work but the result is super yummy!

DSCN1405

When we got home Grandma and I went to play in the yard. I wanted to look for bugs but found something even MORE COOL!

DSCN1420

WORMS! ((and a frog))

DSCN1422

Checking my shovel for little worms.

DSCN1423

So happy!

DSCN1424

Here is one!!!

DSCN1426

They were baby earthworms.

DSCN1430

You just pulled up the carpet moss and they were right on the top of the soil. Sometimes you had to dig a little.

DSCN1435

I think I collected about 50 worms. We put them in the garage for the night and tomorrow I will put them in the garden that I planted wildflowers in today!

DSCN1436

After Emmerson’s nap we all went to the YMCA to play in the splash/spray fountains! I loved going down the big slide and splashing into the nearly 2 foot deep water. I didn’t want to leave I was having SO much fun!

DSCN1443

Here is the only photo Mommy got of me because I got splashy and she didn’t want to get the camera wet.

DSCN1444

When we got home I played with the neighbor kids for an hour and then called it a day. I got to say night night to Daddy over the webcam tonight. That was very neat! 🙂 Thanks Daddy!
