Hunter escaped… sort of!

Today Mommy and I were waiting at home for the FedEx person to deliver a new box of stuff for the fish-tank. Since we now have the “fish guy” to help with the cleaning fo the tank Mommy & Daddy are more confident about investing in corals and fish.

Anyhow, when the box came Mommy brought it inside and the doorbell rang again. Someone from the city checking on the kitchen completion. Mommy came back inside, locked up and we headed for the playground. I had been waiting all morning for the fish box to come so we could go to the playground. Every time I heard a truck driving down the street I would insist to Mommy that it was “TIME TO GO TO THE PLAYGROUND!”

We had a blast at the playground. I can even climb the ENTIRE rock wall on my own now and go down the BIG BIG slide. Mommy said she was very proud of me!

We got home and came in the house and heard a whining from the front porch. Mommy figured it was one of the “feral” cats that have been living in our yard for the last week or so. She looked out the peep-hole and saw HUNTER!!! Ugh!

He must have escaped to the front screened in porch when Mommy was talking to the man from the city. He was fine… but when we let him in… Clover and Sneaky Pie had a MAJOR hissy fit. It took nearly an hour for them to re-accept him into the house! Those silly girls!

5 weeks

Five weeks from today (Jan 16th, 2008) I will become a big brother. Ugh! The time has just flown by so quickly. Mommy and Daddy still haven’t decided on a name but the list is now very short. Mommy has been “nesting” the last few weeks… she is trying to make sure everything is ready before Christmas so there are no issues.

I am really getting excited but still not sure what to expect. I just want to play with my baby brother. But Mommy said it will be a little while before is he able to really play! So until then I will help out Mommy any way I can!

5 weeks!!!! UGH!

Engineering 101

So this morning I woke Mommy up with a holler of “I dropped my stick!” Mommy looked confused when she came in my room… “Stick, what stick?” I pointed to the ground and there was a little 1.5 inch long red plastic stick. Mommy said she knew instantly it was a peg from a toy of mine. The toy is a little rectangle full of pegs that when you push against something it takes the form… like your face, hand or a toy. Mommy then asked me where the toy was so she could replace the peg that fell out. I pulled the toy from the bag at the end of my bed…. it was missing about half of the pegs. Mommy grinned and asked where the other “sticks” were. I told here they were under my pillow. She asked me how they got out of the toy. I told her they “fell out”.

We gathered all the sticks and sat on the floor together and put the toy back together. Mommy asked again how they “fell out” and I said… “my fingers did it!” My toy is fixed and now moved to the non-night-night toy pile.

Horsey is Home

Today Mommy and I ran a few errands while Daddy is in work meetings out of the house. We went by storage to swap out the toddler rail of my old bed for the crib rail for my baby brother. When we opened the door to the storage unit I saw my old horse! I got him for my first Christmas but haven’t seen him in ages since I stopped playing with him. I instantly asked Mommy if I could ride him. She pulled him down off the stack of boxes and I sat on him and bounced a few moments. I then got up and started dragging my horse down the hallway of the storage unit towards the elevator. Mommy sighed and said “fine we can bring him home for a little while as long as I promise to play with it.” I agreed. We loaded him onto the cart and I helped pull the cart to the elevator. Mommy made me stand still and hold the cart handle while she unlocked the car. She said “don’t let go of the handle”.

Being the sly kid that I am in kept holding on and climbed up on the cart and sat on my horse and started bouncing… totally NOT safe! Mommy asked me to safely get down… I did… still holding the cart handle. hehe

My horse is now safe at home and I can’t be pried away from it! I ate dinner on it and snacks. I fed the horse part of my sandwich. I guess it doesn’t matter that it is a bit too small for me to play on, but I still enjoy it. My knees nearly hit the handlebars but I can still get a good “giddy-up horsey” out of it!
