Disney/Universal Get Away

Before Mom’s surgery we spent a few nights camping at Fort Wilderness. Grandma and Grandpa came over for a night as well. We all enjoyed a day at Universal .

Dad had to work one of the days so we took off to explore the monorail and transportation. We don’t have Disney passes right now. We have spent a lot of time at Universal Studios before those passes expire then we will go back to Disney!

Last Minute Life Before Mom’s Surgery

Mom is set to have a carpal tunnel release preformed next week. We are trying to play catchup and get al the larger tasks done before hand. I had to learn how to scoop the litter box. A task I am not eager to do. I did negotiate a raise in my allowance!

We have voice lessons still and our teacher is set to come to our house for the next few lessons until Mom can drive again.

Mom made sure we had a lot of fun in between the chores. We had a blast shooting balloons with our bows.

I got my first Robin Hood! That’s when you hit your own arrow!

I chipped my front tooth again when sleeping. I got to go to the adult dentist this time and am all patched back up. I really liked the new dentist and asked Mom if I can start going here.

After the tooth repair we bought pinwheels for our annual spring yard decorating! We have about 30 pinwheels in the yard now. It looks so colorful. The birds don’t seem to mind as they keep emptying out the bird feeders.

Busy Weekend Archery Recurve and Fun

This weekend was the 4H State Traditional Match. It was  small tournament. I shoot sighted compound but borrowed Mom’s bow to have fun in the contest. I had fun but I really don’t like shooting recurve.

Dad was a lane judge, and on the most confusing target too!

We all had a lot of fun at the 4-H tournament. I am looking forward to the State match in March where I can shoot compound.

We got home late in the evening. We had fun with our Mail Order Mystery package that came. We are enjoying decoding cyphers and finding the hidden messages. The story has been fun so far.

On Sunday we went to an Eco Fest at the Pinellas County Solid Waste Services. There were lots of vendors and things to see and do.

We did the tour of the property. I did not want my photo taken!

Then I changed my mind and wanted to have a hundred taken!

I asked a few provoking questions about the scrubbers and what percentages of greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. I think I stumped up the guide.

The claw is always a favorite on the tour for me. It is amazing how large it is!

Discussing art and nature with the sustainable urban ag people.

I have no clue what this was called but WOW was it amazing! At one point only one wheel was on the ground.

We learned about CPR. I want to take a class and get my certification.

Marine Science Class

I am wrapping up my high school level marine science class. I have really enjoyed all the lessons and projects. Today I worked on an experiment about oil spills and different processes to clean them up.

I had 100ml of oil. I was able to skim off only 30 ml.

The oil soaked into the dirt, feathers and all the water.

I was able to use a dispersant (dish soap) to break up the oil in the water.

Back to class. I should finish this week with the entire class. This is my second high school credit. Not bad for a 6th grader.

Spring Cleaning

Everything in my room had exploded and Mom said enough is enough. She spent a good chunk of the day cleaning and purging our closets and rooms. I was shocked at the end. She didn’t really throw much out other than trash, clothes that don’t fit and a few piles of scrap type paper I had collected.
