My theme this year was Archeology/Paleontology Dinosaurs are Extinct! I picked it!
Mommy and Daddy had fun setting up for the party in the excessively humid weather while Emmerson and I watched a cartoon and ate breakfast. I was eager to get outside to wait for my friends. I was finally allowed out and immediately dove into the kiddie pool. I remained wet until after the party!
Dara, Emmerson and I were making a moat around the kiddie pool.
It took the entire pool full of water!
Mommy to the rescue with the hose. We got several refills. Then Mommy started squirting us with the hose!
I outsmarted her by pinching it shut! 🙂
Some kids liked the little water table better. They stayed a bit more dry.
We had a sprinkler to run through but we ended up just dumping water on it… Mommy still doesn’t understand why but all the kids were doing it!
We played “cannonball” into the pool.
There was also lots of chasing and throwing water!
More chasing… Not sure what I did to make Dara chase me… but I liked it!
Zachary was trying to dump water on Melanie (who remained dry for quite a long time). No luck for Zachary he took an entire bucket in the face!
I attacked with the little cup!
Everyone was soaked in a few minutes.
Except Julia, who was trying to stay dry and clean because she was heading to a play. Well, she got hit eventually…
At least she was a good sport about it!
A few more buckets on the heads.
Cupcakes before dirt!
We gobbled quickly and waited for the dirt dig.
ready, set, dig!
The kids had a great time!
Each section has gems, arrow heads, dinosaur bones, sharks teeth and much more!
Camden and his arrow head!
Jake found one as well!
Looking carefully!
The kids had a blast doing the dig. Mommy and Daddy were grateful that the other parents pitched in to fill the orange buckets with the leftover dirt so Daddy could cart it all over the yard.
Mommy had to help for a while to make sure we didn’t miss anything.
We also had some sand volcanos that had plastic dinos inside. Daddy didn’t get photos of that but there wasn’t much to see anyway. We couldn’t dig them apart so we just smashed them all over the driveway!
Some of the dirt managed to get into the water table and kiddie pool and turn into mud. The mud started to fly. It got all over my friends and even in some eyeballs!
I got some board games, Bionicles, Building blocks, stuffed animals, a neat chemisty/electricity set, playdoh, some more playmobil things, new shoes and a harmonica.
What a fun party!
Thanks to everyone for coming over and spending my special day with me!
