We went for another trip to the Armed Forces Museum. It has been about a year since we went last time. We got the same docent, Mr. Mike. He is a giant file of information. Â he knows about every single thing in every single display.
We explained all the little things. We learned a lot about uniforms, weapons, ranks and more.
I liked the little grenades. You pull the pin and then bang them on your helmet to activate them before you toss them.
We learned about island hopping and how we fought against Japan.
I checked out the periscope and found our car in the parking lot.
D-Day was an interesting display. Mr Mike is full of stories, some probably true, others probably not.
I think the only place I got upset, besides the trenches, was the concentration camp exhibit. It made me sad to think that people could be so mean to others based on religion, race and thoughts.
We learned about the empty place settings at military tables.
We wrapped up in the weapons room. I thought the pin pistol was pretty cool. It was not much bigger than my thumb and shot a small pin filled with poison. Spies used it!
After the tour we met Grandma Susie at Sweet Tomatoes for a late lunch. I kind of over indulged with the desserts, again!
