After visiting the power plant the other day I have really been thinking about the pollution a lot. It was time to make a project for 4H and I changed my topic to be about power plants. Hopefully By telling others about the issues I saw someday we can help fix the pollution in our environment.
I will give my presentation at our next 4H club meeting.
We played outside most of the day. We walked about the neighborhood, rode our bikes, hit baseball and threw frisbees. Finally we settled with sitting on our skateboards and riding down the driveway.
I practiced a little with my foot on the board. I will get it someday!
We spent the afternoon making ornaments for our animal tree.
We decorated with all edible things for the birds and squirrels.
Seeing the squirrels enjoy the tree is amazing! The cats are liking it too!
We drove down to the Big Bend Power Plant to see the manatees. The plant was huge and suffer odor was pouring from the plant. It really bothered me.
Seeing the manatees was really cool. There must have been over 200 in the water.
We learned about bone identification.
There were lots of mama manatees with their babies.
I learned how the power plant works.
I also learned how transformers work.
What a fun morning but it really has ben thinking about pollution and energy waste.
And up to no good!
