Last night we went to the beach for a homeschool meet up. The weather got weird so many people stayed home. We hung out in the pavilion and had a grilled cheese while the storm blew past. The beach was them empty and we had a great time with a few friends.
I loved all the colorful coquina.
The next day at the Threshers game we spotted the Buffalo Wild Wings mascot in the parking lot.
Then inside the stadium was the Geico mascot!
I have been hesitant to read lately since Mom and Dad have been buying books for my iPad. I was afraid that I would be too tempted to play games and not read at night so they bought me a Nook e-reader. I am hooked!
Mom and Dad realized that it was time for a new bike for me once Emmerson got his new bike. His new bike was bigger than the one I have been riding. I picked out a bike rather quickly at the cycle shop. We got it the same day and I am loving it. I now am learning to ride with gears. So far I haven’t swapped gears since I need to focus first on riding!
Mom and Dad drove me up to Ocala for camp drop off for FWC Pathfinders. This fun sign was at the entrance to the camp. Must be lots of things in the area. The bears made me a little nervous.
I picked my bunk and then was told that I couldn’t sleep there because it was a special bunk they weren’t using. 15 min after Mom and Dad left they gave that bunk to someone else. That made me upset. Rules are rules!
The boys in my cabin. We had a huge group and I was a bit of an outsider but I made the best of it.
I went fishing. I never caught a fish but I had fun trying.
More fishing and not catching.
I learned to shoot a shotgun, 22 rifle and a muzzleloader. I only liked the 22. Everything else was too much kickback for me.
I preferred archery.
I learned a lot of survival skills and how to make a fire and shelter.
We visited the “zoo” and saw animals. This is a baby gopher tortoise.
I held a baby alligator. His mouth was taped shut.
We did canoeing and kayaking. I LOVED both.
I came home from camp emotionally spent, whiny and exhausted. I had a horrible time. But after a nap I left better. I was upset with myself that I skipped the Mud Hike because I was afraid. I was teased a bit but in hindsight it was no big deal. I passed my hunters safety course. I can pretty much recite the entire guide!
I am home from the Disney Cruise for a day and now off to Camp Ocala for 4-H camp. We had to meet at the Target plaza early in the morning for the bus ride to camp.
I had several friends going to camp so that was fun!
Sign language I Love You as we pulled away.
There were photos taken at camp but nothing has surfaced yet. We will fill in voids when they arrive. I took a few classes at camp. I learned about underwater ROV. I went canoeing. I learned some survival skills. I also asked a girl to a dance. She is one of my good friends and I thought it was just the right thing to do. We danced a little and then went out to the field to watch a rocket launch.
I slept most of the bus ride home and had a soar throat so we went to the doctors when I got home. I had a great time and can’t wait for next year!
I needed an ice cream for my throat!
