I can’t think of a better way to spend a birthday celebration! We went to Kai’s party at Honeymoon Island. We played in the sand, build castles, tossed frisbees in the water and swam all around.
We sang happy birthday and had healthy snacks!
As the tide was going out and the sun was getting lower we started to find all sorts of creatures in the tidal areas. We set up a bucket system and sorted the critters. We had about 30 sea urchins, a few brittle stars, lots of crabs and snails.
I kept catching these little critters. We found out (Thanks to Ms. Libby at Sea Grant) that they are called SkilletFish a type of clingfish.
Who wants to build in the sand when you have 20 kids climbing through the rocks catching marine life!
Watching the sunset as the kids play in the water and gather critters.
What an amazing way to spend a friends birthday! Happy birthday Kai!
