Cast Netting Class with Mr. Joe

Mr. Joe had a class on cast netting at Weaver Park today. I learned how to throw the 5 foot and the 6 foot cast net.

We practiced on the grass trying to catch balls first before we moved to the water and the pier.

Our first net toss we caught some mullet. Grandpa Howie walked over and learned how to throw a net as well.

When I threw the net I caught something called a greenback. Apparently they are great to put on a hook to catch bigger fish.

Birds, Electricity and Baseball

We think the doves are back. The cats have been lined up on the back on the sofa by the front window for a few days now. Meowing and tail flapping.

This morning we went to Mocassin Lake Nature Park for a class on electricity. We got to see many experiments with electricity.

After the class we darted over the Bright House for the Phillies Intersquad game. We had a great time with friends and family watching a little baseball. I still prefer the Thresher’s because I at least know who to cheer for! I was so confused and then suddenly the game was just over? I guess it is just practice to them.

The Muddy Potter

I had a blast watching the man at the arts festival last week making pottery. Momy found a place in Oldsmar that we could go as a family to try using a pottery wheel. Grandma Jo met us out at the Muddy Potter for an evening of pottery making.

Really concentrating on my craft. I loved the feel of the wet clay.

After a few hiccups and some mild frustration and one restart I finally got what I liked.

We had a great night. We get to go back in two weeks to paint/glaze and then a week after to pick up the final works of art!
