Mommy and I went up to Tallahassee for 4H Day at the Capital. We had a fun car ride up and then went to the Tallahassee Museum for some fun. We hiked a nature trail full of native Florida animals.
I was fascinated with this flight simulator. You ran your arms along the bars and it showed how a birds wings fly forward and backwards during flight.
I loved the black bear. Just as Mom went to take a picture it curled up to take a nap. It is by the second tree on the right by the top of my head.
My absolute favorite thing in the park was the white squirrels! They were awesome.
This area can be completely flooded parts of the year. You can see the water line on the trees.
There were really neat dinosaur sculptures made from old car parts all over the park.
We checked out the snakes.
I liked being a bat!
After the nature park we went to a video arcade. I didn’t want to play any games but they mad a mining sleuth.
I like looking for fossils and gems.
The next day we walked to the state capital. I was one of the youngest people there.
We enjoyed a long tour of the capital and area. This was the Florida Vietnam Memorial.
We visited the Florida History Museum. This was my favorite part of the day. I loved the old typewriter.
We had lunch in the courtyard of the capital.
I opted to hunt for bugs versus listening to the speakers.
There were over 600 people at the event.
I am in the bottom right hand corner.
They had activities that we could do while we waited around. I loved making a garden in a glove.
We went to the top of the capital building. It was 22 floors up.
I took a seat in the old senate and decided that I would not want to sit in the room long. It was boring and the chairs were very uncomfortable.
We had a great time in Tallahassee.
