Day 3 and counting

Swimming went well again today. I DID NOT want to go into Miss Patricia’s house let alone the pool. Once Mommy pried my t-shirt off I eagerly went into the pool. I screamed and cried a bit more today. It was a bit chilly out, 65F. But the pool water was nice and warm, 85F. Miss Patricia was very impressed with my ability to float. That made me feel better and I even offered up an impromptu high-five for her.

I really quiet down when I am in the actual water… I only holler when I am in Miss Patricia’s arms during “rest times”. I was on my back a LOT in the pool today. Great Grandma Allen would be proud, I arch my back and keep my toes above water. A natural floater, huh?

Here are a few pictures of me in the pool with Miss Patricia.

I have a two day break…maybe three if the weatherman is right with his prediction for Monday (Chilly high 50s in the morning). We will see. I am supposed to practice in the pool this weekend if I can.

I touched a dragon…

I did much better today at swimming. I only screamed a few times and said “Mommy Mommy home” WAY less times! Mommy thinks my new found swimming glory is from the reward that Miss Patricia introduced today. If I do well and don’t scream and cry during my lesson I get to touch Miss Patricia’s daughter’s bearded dragon (lizard). It is really neat and bumpy. I was VERY happy to see the lizard! 🙂 Maybe if I do well all swimming season I can hold the lizard too!? Just maybe!

Grandma Jo said that someday I will find out that I eat animals (chicken, pigs and whatnot) and that I will freak out and turn vegetarian. I am sort of there already… I am mainly a lacto-ovo vegan already! 🙂 Except for the occasional piece of chicken I may eat.

I had fun playing at my friend Daniel’s house today. We ate PB&J and pears. I pigged out on the pears! 🙂 Yummie!

I took a poor nap again today and drove Daddy nuts with my new found “screaming” skills. I just giggle and then SCREAMMMMMMMM! Daddy doesn’t like it…. Mommy is tolerating it but not happy with me. I think I will push a few more buttons before I give it up!

Today I also got two new fishies for the fish tank. We got two wild perculas (clown fish). I named them both Nemo. Mommy thinks one should be Nemo and one should be Mo-nee. Since for the last three months or so I have called Nemo, MONE (promounced Mo-knee). I finally say it correctly

Swim fishy swim…

Today was my first day of ISR swimming lessons. I think I did rather well all things considered. The weather was a lot nicer today than the last few days… 70F and sunny! Tomorrow it should be around 80F for my lesson! 🙂 YippiE!

Miss Patricia was very nice and helped me slowly get used to the water in the pool (her pool is heated and really warm!) I put my head under a lot and held my breath very well. She helped me learn to swim towards the wall and grab a bar. Today was really just about getting to know her and getting my feet wet, literally.

I guess I will go back tomorrow. She said I need to try to scream a bit less tomorrow! I think I will try, no promises. After all I am just a toddler.

Oh yeah, potty news. I am getting better about going when Mommy sets me on the potty to try. I do better in the afternoons and evening. I DO NOT like going on the potty in public. I still would rather use my diaper but I am trying to be a big boy. It is getting better! 🙂

a girl?

Yesterday Mommy & Daddy took me to the mall to return a swim vest and grab a bite to eat. We ate at Johnny Rockets. I was excited…. apparently! I decided it was fun to scream at the top of my lungs every few seconds… just to keep everyone on their toes! 🙂 The poor lady sitting behind Daddy was getting annoyed. After she ate she got up to leave and was teasing me. She was fake shouting and then covering her mouth. She looked and Mommy & Daddy and kept saying “Your daughter has quite a set of lungs” and “SHE is silly” and “SHE is cute”. Okay for clarity, I AM A BOY! I was dressed in navy blue and red and wearing a choo-choo train sweater. Apparently I screamed so loud this lady lost her marbles!! *sigh*

I eventually stopped the screaming and ate my hot dog and milkshake! 🙂

Ether weeekend?

I like saying “ether”. I THINK I mean Easter but everyone giggles when I say “ether”. *shrug* All I know is that there is a bunny, eggs, candy and something about a lamb.

Saturday morning Mommy and Daddy took me to an Easter Egg hunt in downtown Dunedin. I really enjoyed flirting with the older girls and bouncing in the moon-bounce. It was a big windy and chilly but I stayed warm by running around like a kid hopped up on sugar! 🙂 At some point a strange man (apparently the Pastor of the local church sponsoring the event) was taking pictures and I offered up a HUGE cheesy smile for him. I am a ham!

Saturday afternoon Cousin Anna and I decorated eggs. By that I mean I dropped the eggs in the dye cups and then fiddled around with them with my nice once normal colored hands.

My hands were GREEN when I was done.

Mommy scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed and FINALLY after about 3 gallons of soap and a few Brillo pads the green is gone. (She didn’t really scrub that hard, but it sure felt like a LOT of hand-washing!) Then she trimmed my nails to remove the last of the green mutant fingernails. I thought it was cool!

Today Anna was down again and we hunted for eggs at Great Uncle Harry’s house. I had a BLAST! I think Easter egg hunting is a bit too high pressure for me. I think maybe it was all the egg hunts Mommy and Daddy took me to in training for the big event today. It was always “hurry hurry hurry” so the bigger kids didn’t get all the eggs first. Today I had my OWN eggs to hunt. I ran around saying “hurry hurry hurry”. Oh well. I really had fun hunting eggs though.

Afterward Anna and I checked out the loot that the Easter Bunny left for us. I got a BUNCH of Thomas the Tank trains, Matchbox cars, sticky balls, books candy and other toys!

I had a quick bite of sugar and then more sugar for desert. I got a bit loopy.

We had the famous bunny cake that Grandma Jo makes every year.
