Dad signed us up for a shipment from Bill Nye, The Science Guy, through Quarterly.
You never know what you are going to get. The box had a cool letter from Bill.
The kit also had some really fun experiments and even a signed page of one of his scripts from his tv show! Some of the boxes contained a bow-tie, sadly ours did not. We plan to have lots of fun with science when we tackle our kit soon.
We had to do out routines and then a lot of self defense moves for testing.
This kid and I do a lot of training together since we are about the same size.
Doing some grappling and trying to pin another student.
Bet ceremony. I passed!
Happy kid with a blue belt.
We are going to take a light load time for school for a few weeks. We made a list of all the fun things we want to try to do during our break from regular homeschool stuff. The goal is to do 75% of the items. Wish us luck!
We have been having such a busy time for 4-H this month. In our club we built catapults, learned about balance and so much more. I am making new friends and TRYING to stay calm during the meetings.
The Apple/Pecan Cookoff is coming up so I have been working in the kitchen to make my apple butter and trying to thing of another dish to enter as well.
Peeling peeling peeling apples.
We made helicopters in the club and learned about what made them go faster and slower.
Part of the motley crew.
Open House and Apple Pecan Cookoff snuck right up. I entered two dishes, apple butter and a apple cake. While we were waiting for judging we learned how to do some dance moves.
We had a gingerbread building contest.
We played with Legos.
I won a blue ribbon for my “Healthy Apple” dish- Maple Apple Cake. It was YUMMY. I got second place for the apple butter we entered as a family. My Apple Cake also won Best in Show! Grandma Susie came to check out the awards… she was goofy and photo bombed me! haha
I got to pick some prizes front he table for my awards.
We had 5 kids in our club enter and all five won an award! How awesome!
My pal, Aran, stopped by to say hello.
Then we wrapped up a crazy two weeks of back to back 4-H with a trip to Plaza Electronics.
We had a great time as Bob showed up the shop and inside of lots of cool electronics.
I disassembled a computer.
Not the entire club, but closer!
This may be a first! Emmerson had gifted class today but I did not! I got Mommy for 3 hours. We enjoyed a pancake breakfast at iHop, complete with hot cocoa. We went for a walk at the park and then wandered around the toy store and then came home and play with my toys for a while.
After we picked up Emmerson we both read some books on out iPads and then played some new games. It was a quiet low key day!
