Rocket Cars

Today with Mr. McWiz we worked on an experiment to see if a car travels further with more or less dry ice in the “tank”. I got to help design the entire experiment.

We looked at the straw diameter as a variable and I proved the smaller diameter produced more thrust to launch the car. Then we looked at the quantity of dry ice. I got to use the triple beam balance to determine the weight of the dry ice. I made sure things like water temperature and amount of water were controlled. Mommy played a science secretary and kept great records.

After the fun and experiment, I wanted to mix soap, dry ice, water and food coloring. I love the tactile hands on reward at the end of a long morning of thinking scientifically,

What a fun science lesson as always with Mr. McWiz!

4th of July

I helped Daddy make ice cream today! It was so loud but I wore my hearing protection and was fine.

Between rain storms we did smoke bombs and a few other fireworks.

After the sun set and the rain stopped we did some more fireworks and watched a nice ahow the people on the next street put on!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 3rd of July

Today we celebrated independance a bit early by going to a Threshers game with friends and Grandma Susie. Before the game they had skydivers jump in and land on the field!

Little specks in the sky.

This was very cool to watch!

The game was long, went to 12 innings. We won 4-3 against the Dunedin Blue Jays.

The fireworks after the game were well worth the extremely long night! We got home after midnight and crashed right away!
