Rube Goldberg Madness

I have always enjoyed making Rube Goldberg machines. Today Mr. McWiz wanted to build them! I was excited. First we did a little science learning. We found the speed (Speed equals distance divided by time) of several different cars. Once we found the fastest car we found out how many Newtons of force the car could pull. We added a weight to the car to increase the Newtons. After all the math and writing we build a contraption using the car.

The car goes down the ramp. When the attached string gets tight a ping pong ball flips out of a container and rolls down a ramp triggering a row on dominos. The dominos fall on a mousetrap which springs and causes another ping pong ball to fly up and hit a plastic bowl. The plastic bowl shifts knocking over another row of donimos. The last domino hits a pink ball that rolls off the table and down to the floor hitting a yellow shovel and launching another ping pong ball!

IT WORKED!!! Science is awesome!

I can’t find my yellow puppy!

I told Mom I was missing my yellow stuffed dog and she said to look through my stuffed animals. Emmerson and I had a blast digging and playing with all of the animals.

After we created a disaster in my room and didn’t find the dog we moved on to Emmer’s room and checked his bean bag chairs stuffed with stuffed animals as well.

We never found my yellow dog. Mommy helped us clean up by holding open the bag as we destuffed all the animals inside. Oddly, after the VERY LAST animal was in the bad Mommy found my yellow puppy! Crazy how that happened!

8 Year Well Check

Well, it is official.. I am STILL tall! I am 97% for weight (86lbs) and 98% for height (almost 55″).

The doctor went through a questionnaire to check “development”. There were all sorts of silly questions:

They were really silly in my book.

DR: Can you tell time?

ME: ummm. Not without a clock! *staring at dr like she had two heads*

DR: Can you tie your shoes?

ME: I can tie great knots and tie my shoes together so well my Mom has a hard time undoing them. *stated VERY proudly* (he can’t tie his shoes properly yet)

DR: Are you riding a bike?

ME: Not at the moment. I am inside!

Mom hid her face and tried so hard to keep from laughing, as did the doctor. The doctor looked at mom and said “You sure have your hands full, huh?”

I passed all the tests and development questions. I was a bit agitated because it was keeping me from reading Harry Potter on my iPad.

Mom said I have come such a far way at doctor visits. I laughed and giggled when touched versus screamed and cried and kicked and scratched.

Pitch For Pink

Tonight was Pitch for Pink at the ballpark. We bid on a few jerseys. We won a jersey for Logan Moore, the catcher and Cameron Perkins, outfielder. These are two of our favorite players. It started raining at the end of the game so we scrambled to get their autographs and get out of there. Logan got away from us before we got a photo but we snagged a second of Cameron Perkins time.
