Off to School!?

OKay, you all know I am a homeschooler but I have been wanted a bit more. Mommy & Daddy had me screened for the Gifted Program through the public school system. I qualified easily and today I started my new class. I only go for about 3.5 hours one day a week. My teacher keeps us challenged and engaged all day. There is no down time for me to get in trouble. I am adjusting to the cafeteria and RECESS! I love recess! We are learning all about inventors and thinking like scientists. I LOVE my class! I am the only kindergartener right now and keeping up with the 1st and 2nd graders with no problems. Let’s hope I can stay focused and keep attending my class.

Happy New Years and More Ohio Fun

I wanted to stay up until midnight on New Years Eve. Around 9:30 my eyes started to go close. Mommy asked if I wanted to lay on her bed and watch TV and if I fell asleep she would wake me up for the “ball dropping”. I agreed and watched Food Network until my eyes rolled up in my head. Mommy said I crashed at 10. She woke me up for final countdown and the ball. I was so out of it I don’t remember a thing. Oh well, maybe next year.

We got up early on New Years Day and went to Chuck E Cheese for some fun. It was raining and cold out so we knew we would be stuck inside all afternoon. We got home in time to watch the parade on TV. We spent the rest of the day doing more art projects, schoolwork and reading library books.

On Sunday we all got dressed up and went to church. I behaved very well. I was fascinated by the stained glass windows. When we got home Mommy sent Emmerson and I down to the basement to play while she tried to fix a minor car issue. I came bounding up the stairs a few minutes later SO proud that I turned myself into a TIGER! It took Mommy a while to scrub it all off. I even decorated Emmerson (sadly no picture was taken).

After Mommy got me cleaned up and fed Emmerson and I played in the yard until our fingers were frozen!

The yard finally dried out a bit so we didn’t get too muddy.

I collected a half of a bucket of acorns and didn’t put a dent in what was in the yard. If you zoom in on this photo you will see the acorns all over the ground.

I enjoyed snuggled with Danielle from across the street.

Emmerson and I played our hearts out. We ran, dug, and climbed all day, every day… until the sun went down.

Nomakee came over and we raced around the yard. Then when it started to get dark, we went inside and did more art projects and built more machines in the basement. Grandma Susie gave me a styrofoam cooler and I hammered, drilled and pushed everything I could find into it!

Final night snuggled with Great Granny.

We had such a fun time and I can’t wait to get back to Ohio on my next break! Maybe Spring Break or 4th of July.
