Asheville, NC

We had a fun drive up to Asheville to visit Grandma Jo and Grandpa Howie. The leaves were just starting to change and I was fascinated by all the colors. I kept telling Mom that everything was BEAUTIFUL!

Mom made us pose for a few pictures.

She told me to get the hair out of my eyes and I opted to help Emmerson do the same!

My fort is still in tact and I plant to work on it more on this trip. I am eager to have Uncle Matt see it someday when we are in Asheville at the same time.

My silly photo shoot.

DSCN5816

The silly side of me.

DSCN5820

The serious side… okay I was almost bursting into laughs!

Mommy asked if we wanted to go down to the lake and look for fish. We jumped at the chance and just kept running. Emmerson is getting fast and almost caught up to me! We had such a nice time on the bridge that we opted for a walk around the lake (about 2 miles).

DSCN5825

We collected tons of leaves and later brought them home and put them under paper and made leaf impressions. I was fascinated by this. I have done a few more since.

DSCN5828

Half way around the lake. This is the beach and lake we swam in over the summer.

DSCN5829

Three quarters done and taking a break to look at the water control area for the lake level.

DSCN5830

I enjoyed visiting the campsites in the neighborhood. It didn’t look like anyone had been using them.

DSCN5831

This really made me want to camp out. I can’t wait to go camping at Disney soon.

4H Scarecrow Day

Tonight we had a 4H meeting and we got to make scarecrows to put in our gardens. We got there early because we wanted to get in and out before the big crowds. We put a long sleeve shirt and overalls onto a “t” shaped wooden stake. We stuffed him with newspaper and plastic bags. Emmerson was a good help with balling up the newspaper.

DSCN5796

We added gloves and socks.

DSCN5798

We used a water jug for the head. Mommy made the red hair. I glued on eyes and a mouth. We attached the head to the stick and then glued the scarf on so the neck wouldn’t show.

DSCN5800

I was really proud of my new scarecrow.

DSCN5803

My garden is doing GREAT! I have one inch high sugar snap peas. I THINK i have a few lettuce plants starting to grow. My eggplant is finally thriving! I am very happy with all the hard work and I am finally seeing some results. Next week we plant the root veggies. I picked carrots for my root veggie!

Glazer Museum Fun

Today we went with a group of about 50+ homeschoolers to the new Glazer Museum in Tampa. I really liked all the things I was ALLOWED to touch! In the Design and Build area I got to put siding on a building, install the plumbing in a house and use simple machines to do work. I loved the crane!

DSCN5777

My buddy Zachary and I played a few songs in our teepee hut. We actually were pretty awesome!

DSCN5778

We played in the kitchen and put on our own cooking show. They had a camera that aimed down at the countertop so we could demonstrate in HD. Mommy was really impressed with the quality of the camera and tv, the pictures were VERY sharp!

DSCN5779

Once I found the vet office I didn’t want to leave. I had to doctor up every animal and check their x-rays. Then I made a circle of all the animals and fed them from a huge dog bowl I found.

DSCN5781

Once the cages were empty and all the animals were healthy my friends and I climbed in the cages. From left to right: Bryce, ME, Zachary and Emmerson (both in the far right cage).

DSCN5786

I was supposed to be at the water area and Mommy blinked and I vanished. It is not like me to vanish. In my mind I was still in the same place but hidden by a wall. They had a neat indoor sandbox!

DSCN5791

We did so many more things in the museum and then grabbed a quick lunch. Afterwards, we went out to Curtis Hickson Park and played in the fountains until we were near drop dead exhausted!

What a FUN place and a great day with a lot of amazing friends!

Cousin Z’s B-Day Party

My Cousin Z turned 4 last week and we enjoyed spending his special day with him. He had a music themed party. We made drums and rainmakers.

DSCN5756

I worked really hard on my drum. I was very proud of the results. What a neat party idea!

DSCN5758

I played in the bubbles from the bubble machine. I don’t think I will ever outgrow bubbles!

DSCN5760

They had a scavenger hunt. I really got into it and loved looking for the really tough items on the list. I found everything…eventually!

DSCN5764

Steve Turner from Giving Tree Music brought drums and had a drum circle at the party. I had a great time but got a bit overwhelmed and wandered off down to the water.

Happy 4th birthday Z!
