Chocolate Cake Meltdowns

A large portion of my day today was spent playing “picnic” with Mommy or Mommy and Daddy! Last night at Target I acquired two lunch boxes (a frog and a monkey) and we have packed them with snacks from my play kitchen toys. Mommy spread out a picnic blanket (a monkey blanket I got from Grandma Susie for Christmas) and we went on a picnic full of bugs and avocados. Daddy thought it would be fun to make a cake tonight (I was showing him my play bundt pan and it sparked the idea).

After work Daddy got all the ingredients ready and then I came out and helped measure, mix and lick (everything I could get my hands on…. sugar, chocolate and more of the done mixture). Mommy buttered and floured the cake pans and my small bunt pan, too! I did a super job helping and cleaning up. Daddy poured the mixture into the pans and then went to put them in the oven. I LOST IT!

TEARS like you have never seen before. My screaming “DON’T COOK MY CAKE!!!!” and “NOT THE OVEN!!!!”. Mommy and Daddy tried to explain it wasn’t cake until it was cooked. My tears turned into me jumping up and down screaming and crying. Finally Mommy distracted my with play-doh and Daddy put everything in the oven. Things were fine then. (Although Daddy worried the neighbors were going to call the police fearing Mommy and Daddy were trying to stuff me in the oven!!)

I polished off my entire little cake after dinner tonight. Then I told Mommy & Daddy I had a tummy ache and let out a rather large burp! All boy! hehe

—in other news—

Mommy is still hanging tough with baby #2. Less than a week to go!

My emotions have been off this week. I am feeling a bit under the weather but I will survive. I spent most of my Gymboree class today under a table in the corner.

Weekend Walking Fun and Tears

This past Saturday we opted for a trip to Ikea in the morning. Daddy wanted to buy a few bookshelves for the baby room since storage is an issue in there. Well, because I was a super well behaved boy Mommy and Daddy took me to EPCOT for the rest of the day.

Here is Mommy 38.5 weeks preggers with baby brother. Mommy walked the ENTIRE world and beyond.

I wanted to go on the “Energy” ride with the dinosaurs and was really happy because the line was short. After about 2 minutes in line I changed my mind and insisted that I go sit in the stroller.

I spent most of my day in the stroller. I just wanted to observe rather than run around. We stopped at every “KiDCot” stop and I collected items from all the countries. I really enjoyed doing this. But I was over the camera and just wanted to hide from it. Finally after MUCH coaxing, I peaked over my hat. Mommy said it is okay to tell that I didn’t want my picture taken because I had on no pants! Just a shirt and a diaper. I had a small accident landing me in wet pants at the end of the afternoon so Mommy just stripped me and said “ahhh, he is a kid!”

Than a big laugh!! I felt better about the pantless thing.

All I wanted to do all day was to ride the “rollercoaster” aka monorail. We waited in line for a bit and finally were able to ride up front.

I LOVED watching out the front window. I kept yelling there were rhinos on the train tracks. REALLY LOUD!

Is this genuine concern that we will hit a rhino? or me turning to Daddy because he finally said “SHHHHHH!”

There goes monorail YELLOW!

I had a LOT of fun on the monorail!

After our ride we loaded in the car and went to Downtown Disney to wander more and shop a little. I really was eager to play at the play place at the Lego store. There were a LOT of kids so Mommy stood close to make sure I was okay. I don’t like slides too much but I do love closing and opening the big windows at the top of the play center.

I was having a LOF of fun…

UNTIL! This really mean (probably 5-6 year old) girl slammed the window and told me “NO stop doing that!” and then I thought for a moment and started to BURST into tears! Mommy met me at the ladder and “flew me down” to the ground.

No one has ever been mean to me like that before and I wasn’t sure what t think of it. Plus it was PAST nap time so I was even more sensitive.

As we walked away I shook my finger at the girl and said “That’s NOT NICE!!!!!! NOT NICE!!!!”

Mommy & Daddy comforted me for a bit and then I was ready to SHOP! I picked out a few little things to spend my gift card on and then we headed for lunch.

I saw this while eating lunch. Daddy has to build it for me from my new tinker toys. WOW!

I didn’t want lunch, just milk. And of course one of my new “friends”, a piggy bank from Ikea!

All in all it was a fun day. I took a 20 minute nap (only because Mommy wouldn’t let me sleep longer) on the way home. We got home, read a story and I went to bed.

Update:Daddy just reminded me we stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way home and I picked out three “Scooby-Doo” books to read. I’ve been having them read to me almost non-stop the past few days…. Hang on… Daddy wants me to say that two of the books are a nice short length – about 20 pages and only take about 5-10 minutes to read but one of them is closer to 50 pages and takes a good 10-15 minutes to read. Apparently Daddy wants to warn all my support system to be wary if you come over for a short visit about agreeing to read a Scooby-Doo book!

I certainly hope we can keep moving like this once baby brother gets here!

Of Shiners and Saggy Baggy Elephants

Yesterday I went to Planet Jump again with the Moms Club. My cousins Nathan and Natalie came along too. We had a LOT of fun running and playing and wearing ourselves out completely. Of course I only stuck to the one little play land like last time or I could be found in the play kitchen. So predictable Mommy said!

All was well with the world and then a kid fell in front of me while I was running and I fall on top of him catching his elbow in my eye. I have a small purple bump on my eyelid today. Oh well. Accidents happen?

While there I also found a pretty girl that I chased around and she would plop down on the inflatable and I would curl up next to her. Awww!

We came home and I REFUSED to take a nap… finally I fell asleep and Mommy said the SMELL from my room just hit. She came in and changed my diaper and that was that… nap over. Not even 15 minutes. So we sat and read some of my Golden Books. I have taken a liking to “The Saggy Baggy Elephant” his name is Sooki. Last night Sooki had to go shopping with us and eat din-din with me. Sooki is my “new friend”. It is really one specific picture of Sooki that makes me giggle with delight. Or melt down, when I accidently ripped the page a little bit. Daddy had to find tape PRONTO and fix the page. Finally, at bedtime we had to read him stories and tuck him in for night-night.

Today when I got up my new found love of Sooki the Saggy Baggy Elephant had not gone away. The book has traveled all over the house with me. I gave Sooki rides on my train and told him all about the Mickey Mouse cartoon I was watching. I fed him mango pieces and some of my banana. Mommy said yogurt was too messy for the elephant. Oh well! Now Sooki sits watching me and my freshly trimmed fingernails… I let Mommy trim them to show Sooki it didn’t hurt. Then Mommy trimmed Sooki’s nails! Mommy said it was the easiest nail trimming EVER!

Well, off to Gymboree and then to hang our with Grandma Jo for a bit while Mommy & Daddy go to Mommy’s doctor appointment. This baby brother thing is getting a LOT closer! Mommy said she will post a baby update during my nap this afternoon!

Holiday Update… This may be LONG

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while. Things have been very busy and Mommy has been taking naps and hasn’t had time to help me. Silly baby is finally starting to wear her out… it only took 8.5 months!!

Christmas Eve was fun. Uncle Matt was here from California and we played with lots of my old toys. Grandma Susie, Grandma Jo, Grandpa Howie and Great Grandma Thelma (GG) also were here. I went to bed on time and forgot to leave out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. The “adults” stayed up late playing board games and eating cookies and Daddy’s homemade peppermint ice-cream.

I was up early but Mommy & Daddy made me wait in my room until they were all cleaned up.

Santa brought me a GLOBE!!! I was really excited about this one. It is electronic and really neat.

I got LOTS of Legos!

More Legos!

Christmas happiness! I was on a high all day, but what kid isn’t!

I got a train whistle that I can actually blow and make sounds with. CHOO CHOO! Here comes the TRAIN!

After we opened my Santa gifts and a few others we loaded the car and went to Grandma Jo and Grandpa Howie’s house. I was the only kid to I got to open gifts all day long!
I got lots of new books! YEAH!

More Legos!

Another book… this book has little animals to build and LOTS of fun animal facts!

Uncle Matt even got gifts… he must have been a good boy this year too!

Grandma Susie got me this neat view-master. It has tons of animals discs.

More Legos?? Ohhh… PEOPLE!
Great Grandma laughed at my happiness.

I laughed at everything!

Daddy didn’t take a lot of pictures because we were all tired. I got lots of dress up clothing, a toy cash register, more books, a bunch of games, a stuffed Monkey with a neat blanket, lots of other stuffed animals, art supplies and lots of other things. I think I was spoiled this year! 🙂
We spent the day at my Grandparents and then came home for a quiet evening playing with my toys.
The week between Christmas and New years was pretty quiet. We all needed that. Mommy has everything ready for the hospital stay and for the baby. Just a few minor little things that aren’t high priority. Daddy hasn’t opted to give up the office yet, so the baby will stay in the master bedroom for a while. In a bassinet/small crib not in the big bed!
New Years was uneventful as well. I was asleep by 8:15 pm and Mommy and Daddy stayed up to watch the ball drop and then went right to sleep.
It is finally cooler outside… well for a few days at least. It will be back in the high 70s low 80s in a day or so. The cooler weather has been great because Mommy and I have gone to a lot of parks and playgrounds to hang out. Here are some random pictures from Mommy’s iPhone (that she has been too lazy to download until now!).
Me in my “safari hat” helping Mommy clean whatever I could find to clean.
IMG_0097.JPG Daddy and the day he just couldn’t get warm. Mommy was sweating and Daddy was bundled up tight. Mommy even wrapped a scarf around his head!
IMG_0099.JPG
The same day Mommy and I were at the park. I wanted her hat instead of my Diego one. I wanted NOTHING to do with the playground it was all about the sticks, moss and other things on the ground.
IMG_0101.JPG

We were the ONLY people at the park, mainly because it was only 45F out and really windy and this park is along the water. IMG_0103.JPG
More sticks and moss! I eventually fed all the moss to the ride-on dinosaurs! IMG_0110.JPG
This branch was really a broom… I made Mommy clean the ENTIRE playground with it! IMG_0114.JPG

So in wrap-up. My 2007 was AWESOME! I got to do so many new and fun things. Including a trip to Europe! WAY COOL! 2008 should bring more fun and changes. I still haven’t decided what I should think of getting a baby brother in a few weeks/days. I guess I will take it as it comes. I think we are all nervous. I have been the only child for 2.5 years and now I will have competition for cuteness! Better step up my mark! I honestly am excited because I want to teach my sibling all the things I know about animals, trains, geography and life.
Best wishes to all! 🙂
